An audit of your store β written, point by point
Not a call, not a deck, and not "let's discuss your goals." A document you can read yourself, hand to your developer, and act on without me.
What I check
Five blocks and a priority table
That is all five β not "and much more." If one of them does not apply to your case, I will say so rather than pad it out.
-
Technical health
- Whether Google sees all of your pages β and whether the same page opens at several addresses
- Speed: how long someone waits before the page starts showing. Measured separately on a phone
- Broken links and error pages, which cost you both buyers and rankings
-
SEO and visibility
- Whether the catalog has its own pages for what people actually search for
- What is visible in the results: the title, the snippet under it, price and availability
- Whether ChatGPT and AI search can answer a question about your product
-
Conversion
- The product page: what is missing for someone to decide to buy
- Cart and checkout β checked separately on a phone
- Trust: reviews, shipping and return terms
-
Analytics
- Whether GA4 counts what it should, and whether orders reach it with real amounts attached
- Product feed and Google Merchant Center: whether your products are being rejected there
- Whether decisions can be made on this data at all
-
Operations
- Payments and checkout providers
- Shipping, statuses and returns β without manual work
- Order handling and CRM: what is eating the owner's hours
The important part
The priority table β what turns the audit into a plan instead of a list of complaints
At the end there is a table: problem, impact, effort, what specifically to do. Sorted so that what delivers most for least sits at the top.
| Problem | Impact | Effort | What to do |
|---|---|---|---|
| No description under the link in Google | high | low | Write descriptions for categories and product pages. With templates β one evening. |
| Neither price nor availability shows in search | high | low | Give Google price and availability in a form it shows directly in the results. One edit to the product page template. |
| The page starts with a blank screen | high | low | Remove the check that delays rendering. A change in the site protection settings. |
These are the top three rows from a real audit of Bloomery Home. The full example β or the technical version with all 11 findings, which you can forward to a developer.
No pig in a poke
Read a real audit before you leave your email
Everyone offers a free audit. So I published a real one β a breakdown of an actual store, with the owner's consent, with every finding left in.
It reads in two minutes: what is wrong, what it costs the owner, and what to do first. For anyone who wants the detail, the full technical version sits next to it β that one you can forward to a developer.
It is uncomfortable to publish: it shows both the depth and the limits of what can be seen from the outside. But it lets you judge the work rather than the promise.
One file β and three times as much becomes visible
What I ask for besides the site address
Everything visible from outside, I will look at myself. But the most valuable answers β about the real profit on an order, about products that sell at a loss, about who comes back β are not visible from outside at all. Those need one export of your orders.
First, what is free and comes with no conditions attached. Here is the full list of what I check from the site address alone β no passwords, no access, and nothing required from you:
- What a crawler actually receives β a page, or a 403, empty JS, a captcha. A store that is invisible to ChatGPT and Google usually has no idea.
- Index and structure β sitemap, canonical addresses, duplicate categories, language versions that lead nowhere.
- What a person sees in Google before the click β title, description, price and availability right in the results.
- Whether the store reads as a real business β reviews, company details, organization and product markup.
- How the site behaves on a phone β overflow at real widths, tap target sizes, font size in forms.
- Contrast and accessibility β text legibility, keyboard operation, labels for a screen reader.
- Speed β what the page loads before it first renders, and what is heaviest above the fold.
- Measurement β whether analytics is in place and whether it counts orders rather than views.
That is the part of the audit you get even if you send nothing.
The rest is one button in your order system: export the last six months of orders to a file. No passwords, no access, no keys β you run the export yourself and send the file. If you would rather send nothing, you still get an audit: just without the part that is calculated from your orders. I will say plainly what was left out.
What that file adds: real profit per order after discounts and shipping, delivery and payment behaviour by region and method, products that run at a loss, and the share of buyers who came back a second time. None of those numbers are visible from outside β and they usually turn out to be worth more than anything I find on the site itself.

Two minutes. The more precisely you describe the problem, the more specific the breakdown will be.
